3504 — GEAR ASSY. - STEERING


A. How to find complete steering gear assembly part number

  1. Using the Identification Tag -
    Refer to the "Identification Tag” column in the model application chart (page 3) to find the correct service part number.
     
  2. Using the Housing Casting number -
    Refer to the "Housing Casting Number” column in the model application chart (page 3) to find the steering gear service number.
     
  3. Using Truck Series and year -
    Refer to model application chart (page 3) to find the correct steering gear.
     
  4. Using the Truck Specification List (T.S.L.) -
    Refer to the T.S.L. Cross-Reference Guide (below) to find the correct service part number.

B. How to find the part number for a component part of a steering gear

  1. Use one of the methods explained above to determine the part number of the steering gear assy. (3504).
  2. Find the parts list number for that steering gear in the model application chart.
  3. Turn to the Parts List (starting on page 12) and find the component needed.
  4. Refer to basic group numbers in Section 35 for physical identification where applicable. (Sample: See chart in Group 3548)
