window mech

Post by red403 »

What is differant from the 67 window mech to the 68-72? I took one out of a 67 door that has been fixed and one out of the 70 door and they look the same.

I took a power window motor from my 77 mercury grand marquis 4 door and made a bracket for the 70 window mech. I tried it and it works perfect now I have power windows for the old truck. I will post pictures when I get home and have some spare time. The sprockets on the motor and the truck regulator are the same so it is just mounting the motor to line up the sprockets.

The 67 (one-year-only part) is a different part number from 67-72. 67 takes a C7TZ 8123200-A and C7TZ 8123201-A, while the 68-72 takes a C8TZ 8123200-A and C8TZ 8123201-A.

I think fordman told me there was a difference in the length of the stem that the window handle attaches to.
Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools talk because they have to say something.--Plato
Why is it that there's seldom time to fix it right the first time, but there's always time to fix it right the second time???

That's not an oil leak :nono: That's SWEAT from all that HORSEPOWER!!

yes the stem length for the handle is all that is different. you can use a 68-72 regulator with the 67 handle you just need a longer screw.

I tried to see a differance between the two but didn't see that as I wasn't to worried about that part any way, it got cut out for the power motor. Thanks all
