ponder for the mechanic type (non ford)
My little beater commuter is a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe. Bought it from a friend with a dead mtr, replaced it with another junkyard mtr, been doing good for over 2 years now. For the past maybe, year, every time I fill up or put any amount of gas in it, she does not want to fire off unless I treat like a crappy running carbureted engine. Then when she does fire off, i need to keep my foot feathering the gas for a few min, after that, she runs fine. Will crank up every time just fine, this issue only happens when putting gas in, thoughts??

I am only guessing as I have never had such a thing happen, but my only thought is that the cold fuel is rapidly cooling the fuel pump, I would check the fuel pressure and see if it is marginal.
