Door? 67-70 or 71-72?
I have doors from different trucks. Unknown years. I see on the LMC site that the anti-rattle kits for the windows call out 67-70 and 71-72. What's the difference? And how do I figure out what I have? Thanks

67's are unique with their lever action door locks.

Yea I knew about that. Don't know about the windows though. I gutted my doors today, of the glass and vent wings,to weld up the dozen or so mirror holes in them. I didn't see any difference in the two on the truck. I have some othe doors I guess I could look at...kf7mjf wrote:67's are unique with their lever action door locks.

As far as I know, the glass should be the same across the series.
I feel you on the multiple window holes.

Wonder why there's a break in the years on the anti-rattle kit?..

The earlier doors had fuzzy type strips both inner and outer. Sometime in '71 the outer strips were changed to rubber for better sealing. They are interchangeable.Broncobilly66 wrote:kf7mjf wrote:As far as I know, the glass should be the same across the series.

The 67-70 strips are felt both inside and out. The 71-72 strips are felt on the inside, and rubber on the outside. The 71-72 are the better design for keeping water out of the inside of your door.

I am pretty sure I read somewhere that the different seal kits are NOT interchangeable.

Inner strip slots, measuring from about the center of the door-lock hole to the center of the slots; approx. 5/8", 5 3/4", 10 7/8", 16".
The outer slots line up with the inners on mine.
My '71's doors are identical.

They will interchange. The old one is out of a '69 door. The new one is from a 71-72 window fuzzie kit from LMC. All the clips line up.
They will interchange.

Re: Door? 67-70 or 71-72?
Well I wish I would have known that earlier today, I just ordered two sets of 67-70 door/window anti-rattle kits for my two trucks. I think I would rather have the rubber ones. Might see if I can adjust my order or might have to send them back and trade them out.

I remember Ryan wanting to put the rubber ones in his doors and said it was a PITA to put them in 69 doors. I think he had to enlarge the holes if i remember right. I'd send a PM to ask what was the problem before sending the felt one's back.fireguywtc wrote:Well I wish I would have known that earlier today, I just ordered two sets of 67-70 door/window anti-rattle kits for my two trucks. I found Ryan's orginal post on how he did with his rubber anti-rattle kit. http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... le#p477311
Flyboy, how has the quality been on those been since you installed them. I know I won't be happy if I can get the rubber seals in my trucks. I just need to find out if I am going to get them from NPD or LMC.

I got the seals in the passenger side door quite some time ago, but I haven't gotten around to getting that door on the truck yet. The door has been in the shed covered with a tarp, but the seals seem to be holding up fine.fireguywtc wrote: Flyboy, how has the quality been on those been since you installed them. Wish I could tell you more than that.
