Ok, back into it this evening to finish off the lenses. I got some lexan yesterday and cut it to size with the chopsaw last night. It's out in the car and the programs are in the machine so hopefully it'll just be swapping parts for two hours tonight to work up 44 lenses. I'm really sorry this is taking so long. Seems like it's going to end up being a Christmas present deal.

Jamie,
Can I come pick mine up?
Just kiddin', take your time.
It will be good to finally get an inside light!

Don't feel too bad Steve. Those dome light covers weren't exactly a high point in the history of Ford engineering.Steve302 wrote:Hello,

Yup Steve you just had to do it didnt you
they all did that over time the plastic would get brittle and crack I have a new lense cover oem with the black trim around it up for grabs you can have it for shipping + $3 if you need one right away they average around $15 most anywhere if you can find one.

OK, spent three hours on the mill last night after work and managed to get 39 of 44 lenses to come out looking really nice. These are Acrylic and milled nicer than the lexan ones and fit a lot better. I actually tried to test fit one of the lenses in the test bezel that already had one installed. The big question is do I sand blast them or not? I'm going to run up to Berkley Springs over the weekend and get some fresh from the earth white sand from the glass plant so the lenses blast clean white and not brownish.

I was wondering if you were going to blast the lense Jamie. I just figured if you didn't, then I would.
I sure appreciate the time you're putting in to these Jamie, make sure you don't sell yourself short when you figure out a price.

I'm still figuring on $20 plus shipping. The time is well spent just learning how the programs work and getting familiar with how to do different processes. I'd love to get a decent loan and buy a CNC mill with an automatic stock feeder once the wife goes back to work next year so even if I'm only dreaming I can use this as a primer for doing different processes.
Like I said last week I hope to get the rest of the bezels polished up and PM's sent. Bodywork sucks so the polishing is a good diversion.
