Re: Which headers?! 71 F100, 302, 3 on the tree
.030 is quite a difference. Your engine is almost a 351 and a 289 had the small valves a Boss 302 had huge valves and huge ports they pulled their power too high for street work. The smaller valve would help make the engine more street able. The slightly larger valve would need higher air velocity to work properly. Since this is not a racer go with the smaller valve heads. The similar heads are they Edelbrock?

Go with the smaller ones that is the only difference.

Re: Which headers?! 71 F100, 302, 3 on the tree
Finally a little update..
The crankshaft is balanced and ready to get shipped back to me Monday. It´s fine balanced now (don´t know if that is the correct expression for it though). It´s balanced on 2 grams accuracy, that should really help to get a very niiiiccceee engine
Also the parts from Summit should arrive early next week.

Did it need any Mallory to balance? Sounds like it will be a nice engine when done.

Clint, I don´t know if it needed any. Gotta ask him. But the old balancer was broken. The shop luckily had a new one in stock and balanced it.
I just found out that my parts from Summit arrived at the airport in Munich one week ago and I could have picked them up, but somehow I didn´t receive the fax they said they sent me
Anyways, I need to get the customs and taxes sorted out now and then I can come and get them

Mallory Metal is a heavy metal used to add weight for balancing. It is only used when weight is added. Removal of weight is more common.

Yeah I know what Mallory is, just don´t know if the guy who did the balancing needed to add any of it.
I got my parts from Summit today
Still waiting for the crank.
It won´t be long now until I can reassemble everything

Hey!
I just started a new thread on the build up of my engine. Just thought it would be better to get it all into one thread.
You can check it out here:

Thanks!
