What do these numbers mean?

Post by 71Ford100 »

Okay, I just got my build sheet from ford and it says it has a 3.00 Non-Locking Rear axle. What does that mean?

it means you have a 3.00 gear ratio and a non locking differential which means lots of one wheel burnouts lol and not lots of fun.My old 72' had the exact same thing and i hated it.

Word. Can anyone make some good suggestions as how to change over from an open 9 inch, to a locking one? I hate 1-wheel burnouts.

Buy a locking differential unit such as ARB Air Locker.
