I have no idea if this works for anything other than a 350.
I bought a 79 F350 for the front ibeams with disc brake parts for my 68 with drums. As I was working on it today I noticed that the 68 i beams and radius arms looked beefier. So I took the backing plate and caliper bracket off the 79 axle and bolted it onto the 68 axle, Installed the rotor assembly and voila. Disc brakes in 30 minutes. Man I wish I woulda known this about 6 months and a parts truck ago. I coulda picked up the disc brake calipers and rotors etc at pull a part for less than a 100 bucks for both sides.
I hope this helps somebody in the future. It sure would be much easier this way.

Oh, yeah.
It'll work for F250's as well. Won't work For F100 because the brackets are cast into the spindles. Lots of people (myself included) have just swapped parts onto the f250/350 spindles.
Glad you have discs now. You'll really like the way your truck stops now!

How did I miss this? Oh well 2 days ago I dropped the suspension out of my 68 F250 and today Installed the 79 Front axles with new axle bushings and radius arm bushings. I guess I wish I would have found a early Combination valve (proportioning). The 79 one I have wont easily fit where the 68 one is.
