5" Backspacing?

Post by 19agin »

I am wanting to put 10" wheels on the rear of my truck. The wheels I am looking at only show to come in a 5" backspace. My 71 longbed 2wd with 9" and stock drums looks like it might be a little tight for that much backspacing. Does anyone have this size of wheel on with a 5" bs?

That is the correct backspacing for a 10" wheel.

But will a 5" backspace be too much and allow the wheel to rub the corner of the bed floor? I guess that is my actual question.

It depends on the size of the tire that you intend to run. 275's should not rub. 295mm+ will rub.

Looks like I'm on the hunt for 4.5's then. I didn't think they would be that rare, but I haven't found any of the ones I want through Vintiques yet. I'm not putting them om tomorrow or anything, just trying to find an outlet for them. Thanks again.
