Article 2984 - Accelerator Governor Lever Travel

TSB #146 - August 7, 1970
(L-Series Trucks Equipped with Caterpillar V-8 Diesel Engines - 1970)

On subject models, in order for the governor lever to achieve full travel, the accelerator rod ball stud must be installed in the throttle lever hole nearest to the firewall (refer to Figure 9).

The other hole, farthest from the firewall, is used on 1970 carryover models (except C-6000/8000 with cable linkage), and also on replaced models prior to 1970, using the V-8 Caterpillar Diesel engine.
