Article 2070 - Stop Lamps Inoperative

A short to ground in the stoplamp wiring can cause stoplamp switch failure. If the switch terminals are blackened and loose or otherwise show signs of being overloaded, the stoplamp wiring should be inspected for shorts to prevent repeat switch failures. Since the stoplamp circuit goes through the turn signal switch, be sure to check the turn signal switch wiring, especially on units equipped with a tilt column.
