1970 Body Builder's Layout Book

Vol. 70 HTM2-L2
November 1969

This 160-page book contained complete dimensions and diagrams for all 1970 Series Ford Trucks. It is designed to expedite the mounting of bodies and special equipment on Ford Trucks, and is also a useful guide for field modifications. The specifications and designs described herein are believed to be accurate as of the time that this book was approved for printing (Nov. 1969), but are not guaranteed.

NOTE: Though this book contains information on the entire lineup of 1970 Ford Trucks, including the HD F-series and the B, C, L and W series, as well as the Econolines, I've only included those specifically pertaining to the light-duty F-100, F-250 and F-350 trucks. Each linked page below will take you to a scan of the diagram(s) and/or info on that page.

WARNING: To preserve detail, these images are very large high-resolution scans, so please be patient while they download.

WEBMASTER'S NOTE: This page is a work-in-progress. Because of the physical size of each page in this manual vs. the size limitations of my flatbed scanner, each scanned image on this page is actually the result of four individual scans which were then stitched together into one. This is a fairly time-consuming process, so please be patient while the work continues. Page numbers that are greyed-out are queued up for processing and will be posted shortly.

(1) - PLEASE NOTE: This manual does not show an engine dimensions chart for a 302 engine in an F-series truck, since these weren't not a part of the F-series engine lineup until mid-'69....about the same time this specific manual was printed and couldn't have been included. Therefore, for comparison purposes only I've included these two 302-V8 engine dimensions charts for the Econolines, although some specific dimensions/measurements could vary between the F-series trucks and the Econolines.
