WEBMASTER'S NOTE: The following is an ongoing project
by Wes Adams to build a "Poor Man's 427", using a Ford FT 330 block
and other 'cast-off' parts. The posts were saved from the FordFE.com forums
and reposted here with Wes' permission.
We got some valves from Mark Artis
for our project here, measuring 2.25" for the intakes and 1.75"
for the exhaust. However, we had to do some trimming to get them to
fit. This is an experimental head here. We used a C6AE-R head to
play with. Take a look!
Here is the intake runner. We
decided to trim down the guide up to the ceiling. We got the
idea from the SK heads that we have sitting here in the shop.
Here it is from the valve point of
view.
Here is the exhaust side of the house.
Here are the valves in the head...pretty darn close,
with .025" separating the two. We think that we might need some more room in
between the two. What do you think???
Here are the valve sizes. We are going to trim down to 2.190
and
1.73 finished.
Here we are looking at a set of original Ford SK heads that have
never been used! That's right...ORIGINAL NEVER-BEEN-USED FORD SK
HEADS!!!!!
If you have any good ideas or suggestions for what we're doing,
please let us know. I'm open for criticism...really I am!!!
