In 1968, Ford conducted a two-phase endurance/evaluation
test of their F-series pickups. Phase I consisted of a
3,500-mile trip from Florida to the Mexican Yucatan
Peninsula (which is detailed in the publications at the
bottom of this page). Phase Two consisted of assembling 21
Ford and Chevrolet truck owners from across the nation for
the " '68 Better Ideas Pickup Owners Panel", taking them on
a 130-mile cross-country run through Texas, and then
evaluating the results.
This bulletin deals with Phase I...the trek to the
Yucatan Peninsula.
