Transmission dipstick seal

Post by alvinator »

Okay, this may sound dumb but too tired to think today. While cleaning up the transmission to get ready for installation and noticed the rubber seal on the dipstick pipe, where is goes into the transmission, is worn out and need a new one. SO, what do you call that rubber seal/gasket/grommet thing, so i can tell the part store what i need, other than taking the whole pipe to the store, lol.

i hate those things. i always have trouble with mine thats why mine leaks. i know its a simple deal but thats one thing that just gets me because of the room you have to put it all in together.

I would just head to the hardware store with your old one in hand and match it up. I need to do this with the Mustang's too--it's a little damp around the pan--finally figured out where it was coming from!!
