frame brackets for front mount of rear leaf springs - 1967 F350

Post by Art »

Looking for a pair of good brackets for a 1967 F350. These are different than my 2WD 69 F100. The ones I need have the leaf spring front eye bolt nearly inline with the lower set of frame rivet holes. Not sure if F250 2WD or 4WD is the same, or made from same thickness stamping. My F350 brackets are rusted dangerously thin, and one recently broke. Any info is much appreciated. I am located in SE Wisconsin.

It's a common part that fails/rusts out on most all our Ford trucks and Bronco's, (due to how much crap collect there where most folks never think to clean).
I saw the same thing happening on my early Bronco and actually drilled a few 1/4" holes in them to drain off the mud and water that always collect there. I never found a source for new ones, (but maybe someone else here can) other than torching a used set from a truck in the boneyards? :(
I kept that Bronco running, (1976 with disc brakes and power steering/302/D44 and Ford 9" rear axle) well past it's 30th birthday but this was a determining factor to finally part it out-as well as the wall thickness of the channel frame steel used becoming too thin wall.

Maybe try a local spring shop Art? Surely there's one up there within a 100 miles or so that could ship these?
Those are also becoming a thing of the past with all our "disposable vehicles" made these days.

Thanks for the reply Jeff, I appreciate your help.

I do have experience with replacing these brackets on other trucks before, but this F350 has brackets that are different than the F100/F250 brackets that I saved from previously parted out trucks. Seems these brackets are unique to F350's???

Art you're probably right, (and then throw in the "curve ball" that you're working on a 67' that had many "one year" parts on it too).
I might be able to help you narrow your search, (by comparing my old F-350 DRW bracket/mounts to yours) but only by an image as I sold that truck.
I just looked and i do have several good pictures of my old 71' F-350 DRW and they look the same as your 67' F-350.

Shoot me a private message if you'd like with an email, (and I'll email the pics). Sorry but I no longer upload to a picture host after what photobomb' did a few years back. And they don't want us to post email addresses here as it brings out the "spam bots".

Edit: Also maybe reach out to Green Sales, (they carry obsolete parts for our Fords).

The brackets on my 72 F350 crew cab measure like these ones:

I think I'll try them - I have your same problem.

That's good to know, (another dent part bump owners can rely on)!
