Replacement AC system on Factory AC truck?

Post by Mkgundo »

Good morning Bumpheads. My “new” 68 F250 came with factory AC and the unit is toast and of course you know how easy heater cores are to find. I’m looking at aftermarket kits and I’m concerned they are designed to bolt up to factory heater-only trucks.

Any feedback or or recommendations?

I’m looking at these:
Old Air kit #IP-6872E or IP6710H
Vintage Air kit #951157
Classic Air- confirmed it won’t fit/bolt on

Thanks in advance!

Ended up ordering the Old Air kit #IP-6872E. It’s got accommodations for factory AC trucks and seems to have good reviews. We’ll see and I’ll post progress. Regardless it keeps me working with my hands and focused away from the political BS

Sorry! I got the unit installed along with a new dash pad and the water lines so the heater and defrost work. Decided to delay hooking up the AC because I wanted to drive and enjoy the truck. Plus didn’t want to hassle with relocating the emergency flasher switch to mount the vents under the dash since the new flasher switch solved so many brake light problems :) :)

It’s a great unit so far and pretty easy to install. I’ll get to the AC eventually
