Cab mount differences

Post by shortbedCUSTOM »

Hello everyone,

Wondering if someone can shine some light on something for me. Are there any differences between a '67 and a '68 DRIVER side cab mount???? The reason I ask is because I was looking to purchase some from CJ Pony and something threw me for a loop. They list the RIGHT side mount (part #BM3R) covering trucks '65-'79. BUT, the LEFT side (part #BM4L) ONLY covering trucks '65-'67. :? :?

I've tried calling but no answer and I really need to get this ordered asap since order processing and shipping is really being affected by the current situation. Any help will be highly appreciated.

TIA
-carlos

Don't know how or what but apparently there us a difference. C&G Ford Parts lists different part numbers for RH 65-67 and 68-79. Scroll down for associated parts.

WOW! Thanks Randy. I'd like to know what the differences are if anyone else can chime in. Meanwhile, I think I'll give C&G a call to see if they have it in stock.

Interesting. Flashback F100's lists them as 65-79 for both sides. http://flashbackf100s.com/usa_made_stee ... air_panels
Tom, any input on why other vendirs think 65-67 RH ate different than 68-79 RH?

Randy I have sold them for many years 65-79 being the same as that. Since the other cab mounts many years before the weld in ones came in being made where always listed as that. Only thing I can say is Ford is known to say if they moved one hole about less that inch then number was changed or different location then number changed or another vendor was making it and made a small change that will not affect the part but looked a little different and then Boom # was changed. the only true way is too have a 65/67 cab mount and compare to 69/79 trucks, like I said only thing I can think of is one extra hole, hole no longer there
Randy here is another part that at first look at the front cab supports that attach to the frame Ford has 2 different part #"s NOT where it bolts back on the frame BUT the difference is the center hole is moved between 1/4 to 3/8 of a inch And BOOM the part # has been changed so that is why we DO NOT Go by Ford Part # "s I can go on and on with parts that will work but a slight difference and maybe due to the Original MFG
