Upper Coil spring holder - differences?

Post by Bubi »

Hello,

my 72' F250 CS with 7500GVW has tighten upper coils.

Most of the other bump-coil springs I've seen on pictures, have the same upper- coil diameter like the 2.nd coil. Also the upper coil holder is "open" on my truck, what means, that I can see the complete upper coil.
Is that a difference between model-years and/or GVW?

Thx...

Yes the upper coil spring holders are different, depending on GVW. I have a 1972 F250 that has a GVW of 7500 as well, the coil spring towers are much taller than say an F100 with a lower GVW. Here is a thread with some pictures of a truck with 8100 GVW that look the same as my 7500 GVW towers.

Thanks...
That's what I thought.

So, it isn't easy to find new ones if I need those.
The 6900GVW or less coils do not fit...
