im stumped and ready to re wire the truck, but have a question

So i had brake lights and now I dont. I have parking lights and power to the brake switch but no brake lights. I jumped the switch and still nothing. I tested that the switch has power with a test light. before i rip this crappy wire mess out, what can i check and fix it ?

Check the rear light bulbs and sockets? IIRC the wiring harness comes down the frame on the left side then jumps over to the right at the back of the truck. Check the left light socket for brake light signal. That will cut your problem in half. If you get the signal at the socket then your issue is at the back of the truck, If you don't have the stop signal at the left socket then start tracing back towards the front of the truck, you will find a wire cut or pinch , then fix. Pulling the harness out would be a very last resort.

thanks gents, I figured out that since i pulled the turn signal wiring from the column the brake lights quit. the brake lights are tied to the switch.
