Lights Cut In Out And Clicking Relay or Breaker on 69CS

Post by Wes69CS390 »

Newbie here would really appreciate any advice! I am attempting to bring a '69 F250 camper special back to life and have run into an issue with the lights cutting on and off and a clicking coming from the relay or breaker at right side of the glove box. I have read prior posts but still can't seems to track down issue. I have replaced the headlight switch at dash, I have checked all wires and grounds that I can see. Bulbs are all good. This truck has side marker lights, no cab lights. When I pull the switch out the headlights and the side marker lights come on briefly, but the clicking starts and they all start to cut in and out immediately - its a pretty rapid clicking. The tail lights don't come on at all and I've checked and the brown wire is connected to both taillights. The brake lights and the turn signals front and back work good. I have not touched the relay or breaker, could they be the problem, or does this sound more like a short? WP

I would first replace both flashers. One behind the instrument cluster and the other behind/under the glove box.

The relay by the glove box I believe is there for adding marker lights onto the roof. The sound of it clicking on and off may indicate the power going to it coming and going. If the clicking was coming from the headlamp switch area that would suggest the circuit breaker was kicking in on the headlamp switch Itself. I think its time to check the circuit that feeds live power to the headlamp switch and look for loose/broken connections.

Did you get this problem resolved? Here are a couple older threads that might be of help.
