Help Adding An Avatar

Can anyone tell me how to post an avatar on my profile page. Is there a list of everyone's avatar so I don't pick the same picture, or if I want to post a picture of my truck and use it as my avatar, how do I do that?

I read the FAQ on this but I'm still unclear on how to do it.

Click on your name in the top right then click on user control panel then it will bring you to a page with a few tabs on it. Click on profile and then click on edit Avatar on the left side of page.

FYI, it has to be tiny. No more than 80 pixels x 80 pixels and no more than a 6 kb file size. It took me awhile to get mine to take.
