Where to find a new 72 grill and headlight buckets

Post by NC72crew »

Has anyone been able to find a new grill for a 71 or 72 bump. I went to dennis carpenters and they dont have any and dont know when they will make more. I've tried lmc, macs, npd. Any ideas? :?

None of the usual places has it in stock for me either. whats wrong with yours? If it's bent up and youre just looking for one to replace it with then a couple of salvage yards close to you had some really decent ones when I was out and about looking for things for my 72.

It's obsolete as far as I know, (and has been for many years). Long standing story is that the mold they were made from was burned in the Ford Rouge River plant fire. Maybe "numbers idiot" on the FTE page can verify this? :hmm:

Like the Bandit said best to start sourcing it from a used prospective.
Maybe try the zuckerberg groups and also put a "parts wanted" ad here, (below link) as many guys surf this page trying to sell parts.

I found a new 1970 grill shell. What is the differences between the 70 and 72? Only thing i can see is theres 6 holes in the 72 inserts and only 4 in the 70. hopefully it will fit. thanks for any help.

I have a '72 grille I'd be willing to part with. Not perfect condition, but in quite good shape. I'm located in Erie, Pa. I would expect at least $100 for shipping.

Any input on this?
I'm facing the same problem on my '72. My bezel is decent, Just a few small dents and creases. I was considering working them out and trying to find someone to re-chrome it. Has anyone out there done that or know of a company/person who can rebuild your original?

Does any one remember what happened to the guy on here that used to repair, polish, refurbish and sell used grills?
Looked like he did good quality work.
