Greetings from Erie PA

Post by nooptions69 »

Hello all, I am not able to post photos yet, just moved into the 21st century and got a capable phone. While on topic, anyone able to recommend a good photo hosting site?

My truck is a base '69 F100 short. As implied by my user name here, not a single option on it save for the aluminum grille and I think that was added later on. The original 240 was replaced with a rebuilt 300 from the late 70's. Truck had some weird problems (like the driveshaft not properly placed between the tangs on the rear yoke that caused mega vibration) to common problems like the only place where rot had happened was the left front cab mount. That led to a number of other issues. I am almost certain that the truck sat for about 30 years before I bought it. I replaced the cab mount, turn signal switch and wiring among other things and now have a highly reliable driver, a truck I would not be afraid to take anywhere. Except for the final 1:1 drive, that has to go.

Have a late 70's overdrive that I'm going to install to get the highway RPM's down. Pulled that out a '64 Galaxie 500 I bought down south in '13, but that's another story.

Hey Lenny!

Glad to see you finally made it here! Cool to hear about what all you've done with your truck! Sounds like these inlines are VERY reliable, as is mine! We should definitely go grab lunch sometime in our trucks! Can't wait to see your truck out on the streets of Erie!

:wel: from Germany!

Nice to hear you made some progress and have a reliable driver now!

G**gle "photo hosting" or "image hosting" then you can chose some of the free image hosting sites... Cannot give some recommendations because here in Germany we have some different providers.

Can't wait to see some of your trucks photos

:wel: from Georgia! Looking forward to following your progress. Especially that overdrive, I'm sure everyone here will be interested in how that works out. 8)

There she is! Gosh, I love that truck and it's paint scheme. It looks like everything there is pretty solid! Rad support and front of cab look good! Great find!

Still haven't figured out the right combination to post, bear with me for a while longer I guess. Not sure why I lost the first photo in the second post, maybe it's trying to paste my latest photos and removing the previous? Probably need to clear a clipboard somewhere- Len

Lenny,

I usually click the "attachments" tab, next to "options", below the submit button. From there, I upload 1-3 photos I plan to use in my post/reply, and then use the "place inline" button that appears after the photo has been fully uploaded.

Hope this helps!

And... I just found out that if you don't use the "place inline" button, it will just throw your photo at the end of the post/reply! Sorry for the random photo!

No problem with the photo, your truck looks good. Once I get settled in here we can meet and compare notes. I need to get myself over to "how to post photos" in the project section to figure this out. Hopefully I'll stop clogging up the welcome mat.

Haha! Sounds like a plan! And I wouldn't worry about it too much; the more activity on this website, the better, in my opinion!
