72 sport custom camper special two tone green

Post by 72twotone »

I have a 72 sport custom camper special that is a three tone green. Mallard green on the bottom of the truck seapine green on top including the roof.with dark green door panels and dark green armrests and dark green on the outside of the seat the center of the seat is cloth that looks like the same color as the metal Isnide the cab .it has a darkgreen dashpad with a green steeringwheel the bottom of the cloth section on the back looks like seapine the rest of the seat has faded..the color code doesn't have the color code for the mallard green but the mallard green looks like it was painted that way from the factory. When it was orderd.it has the low er trim with the wheel well trim. And the narrow center trim and west coast mirrors. With chrome bumpers. The rear bumper is not original it looks like a Westin bumper with three ribs.chrome diamond plate step .it has the taillight trim with the aluminum tailgate insert with no paint on the letters .the truck has tinted glass and side visors on the doors and super cooling and a replacement 140 amp alternator with a 14 volt regulator.the alt a d voltage regulator are from my 70 f350 cab chassis. It also has a grey sliding back window. The dashpad is cracked as is the steering wheel. Can't locate replacement parts.the door tag says f25hrm60707.color code o interior code is f4.trans code is g axle code is 38 gvw is 07500.engine hp is 165 hp rpm is 4000.dso code is 71.it also has the flexo matic rear suspension with dana 60 3.73 convential .I guess that means open..yes disc brakes heavy duty shocks in front and back .and driversatile side inner fender for another battery. It also has the special connector in the wiring harness for the camperspecial p,ug.I also have the harness. .I have pics of the truck .but there are 50 of them .is this a normal 72 camper special sport custom.

It has probably been repainted. The colors don't match the tag.

You can attach pictures directly to the post using the “attachment” tab at the bottom of the post window, check to box that says “show inline” or something to that effect. Also can link them using the “img” button above the post window if you have them on a hosting site...

72twotone,

These are pics of my '72 F100. Seapine and Mallard Green (original colors). The seat shown had the original cover. I've replaced it since. Not many with this co!or combination.

If I read your posts correctly, the door tag indicates an F250 - 3/4 ton. The wheels appear to be F100 - 5 lug wheels - 1/2 ton. After 1967, I do not believe a F100 was labeled a camper special.

The picture seems to show a short bed, but I cannot really tell. No short bed F250s were built.

If these points are correct, then someone has put a lot on time in building a really nice looking F100 using some F250 parts on the F100 frame. I would certainly not feel bad about the mixture of parts unless you need a heavier truck. The F250 is just a little bit heavier build than the F100.

That's correct. The truck in the pics is my '72 F100 Sport Custom, not the F250 Camper Special of the original post. They both happen to be 1972 Sport Customs in Seapine & Mallard Green. :)
