Good news to report. 88 is complete and delivered. Next stop ordering front springs to finish mocking it then the front clip comes off and finish the steering box. :woohoo:

Manny I'm curious if your going to replace all the springs will you remove the rear lift blocks and get like a six inch lift rear spring pack to finish it at a 2 inch lift?
I'm thinking I want to go your route. My front springs are super saggy and wonder if i get 2 inch lift springs if it will appear to give it +4 in the front. Hoping I can just copy someone on here haha

Yes i want all the blocks gone if possible or drop to a 2 inch however works best. Thought of changing the hangers but that may may not happen. My goal is 2 inches in the front with the springs then get the rear to match level with the least amount or no block as possible. I will keep you posted of course!! Should go get my springs soon been putting new fuel system on my dually. Got the itch to get my 16x10 steels and get a 35 under her!!

Progress is being made!!!! Removed the valance first would like to have the 67-69 style I have a 70-72 but will probably save the older one. Note the core support is perfect!!

Image

Yeah the 50 years and who knows how many with a stuck voltage regulator did this thing in hard.
Image

Had to cut all the body mounts out it was a mess thankfully the frame is thinned under the mount but not gone so can fill it up.
Image

I am uploading pictures now of the steering box mount i managed to get done today.

Here is the progress made yesterday on the old girl.

First off the frame is thin at the mounts but not terrible very fixable.
Image

Between that photo and now Dan now has no hair on his arms and tons of red specs. :cuss: No good way to grind the old chunks out just gear up and hope for the best but got it.
Image

Got the spacers welded into the frame and got them square. Took a few minutes no doubt.
Image

The spacers were ground down, and around and welded up and welded the top frame rail up and 45'd for full welds
Image

Image

After that spent more time mocking the plate i did not rush obviously i wanted this exact.. :D
Image

Image

Image

I coated the inside before the plate. Just used Dupli color truck bed coating. Later the frame , and cross member will get KBS cavity wax.
Image

Welding was easy after that.
Image

Image

I have the holes drilled now. More to come!!!
