congrats on being a father! I see you also have some small tractors. I did a 66 massey MF10 with my sons last year. it's fun doing projects with the young ones.

Yeah I love my little wheel horses they are fun.

As for the truck after the sterling was getting wrapped up it was time to part the truck from the original axles.
First to leave was the old closed knuckle D44

Then the old springs made an exit.

All that space for new hangers and super duty springs.

Also got some hangers from ruffstuff and some shackle anchors for my new cross member that I will copy off what Ryan built for his highboy back in the day.

As the front goes so goes the rear 60. It actually was not a big deal other than warming the nuts on the u bolts with a torch to let the impact buzz them off.

Image

I did find quite a surprise on the rear shocks though!! Another point of proof That Mr Crenshaw worked at the ford dealer and the truck always got Ford parts. So 80's retro they were.
Image

These appear to by the 68' u bolts as well. 67' body 68' frame Hopefully that block will no longer be needed.
Image

So with that so long to the 60 and the 44. Now for the new suspension and new axles.

:woohoo:
