Rsjohnsn did you ask the owner about taking the cluster out of the big truck behind the ranger?

I wanted the whole truck but he has it promised it to somebody else. If that deal falls thru then I am next on the list.

Back on t he topic of the 6.0, i am also a heavy line tech for ford and i would not own a 6.0 after working on them all day. but on the other hand i do love them b/c they bring in a lot of hours working on them which is good since things have been slow in the shop. while everyone is sitting around i am working on the 6.0s that get pulled in the shop. no pun intended. but i agree that they have more power than the 7.3 and will haul a$$. that is my :2cents: and congrat. on the your new 68. do you have any plans for it yet?

Oh boy, do I have plans for it. I plan on making a little hot rod out of it. I want to lower it with the widest possible tire and wheel in the rear without tubbing it. I am going to build the motor to at least a 390 but more than likely bigger with an auto. Disc brakes all the way around and oh yeah, AC. Paint and body work is still up in the air.

Well she is finally in my driveway, the fun begins! I drove her home and the only things she really needs is the carb rebuilt, exhaust gaskets, brakes, tune-up and tie-rods. Everything else works great even EVERY light. She sets level and drives straight and runs good. I think I made a wise decision!! :D

When I got my truck it had the same horn button as yours!

Looks like you have the sport rear bumper. There's a find right there with the brackets. $150 saved off the bat.

No one knows how hard it is for me to bite my tongue when someone talks about lowering a truck! :argue:

To each his own I guess. :D

My Brother, surely he must mean that he's going to offer it at a "Lower" amount then what he purchased it for. I know that it sounds wierd but he can do whatever he wants to do with the truck (Of course with the exception of turning it into a low rider.) that would be a trajic waste of an awesome pickup...:P

Take it easy on me guys, I'm not going to lay frame. I just want to lessen the gap between the tires and fenders. When I had my '67 back in '86 I had it setting on a '64 front axle (straight) and it was lowered. I got so many compliments about that truck! I plan on doing it with the dropped I-beams so it can easily go back to stock if it needs to. Oh and no it won't be offered for less than I paid :$$:

I like 'em either way....I get cool ideas for my own projects from both sides. I'd say I'm 49% purist and 51% hotrodder. A mild lowering IMO really makes these trucks look sharp...though I prefer a little bit of rake.
