Guage Connections

Post by 91Dawg »

My truck has a set of aftermarket gauges and I want to move back to the ones in the instrument panel. I pulled the panel- painted it, got a new lens and am ready to re-install. I know the wires for the ammeter are hanging in the back disconnected. How do they connect to the ammeter gauge? How does the temp gauge connect? The oil pressure? The aftermarket has its own setup for the temp, oil and voltage. Any help would be appreciated. The speedo and the fuel work fine.

Your '72 should have a circuit board on the back of the instrument panel, so if wires were cut it was done before the panel's main connector. You'll have to follow the wires back from that main panel connector and see where they were snipped.
