Another 4x4 conversion question

Post by tempefd »

I know this gets discussed a lot here about converting a 2wd to 4x4. I have a 1970 f350 crew cab long bed 2 we. I want to drop the body on to a 1996 F350 4x4 power stroke 5 speed frame. Both trucks run and drive now. I can get a pretty decent deal on the 96 so I was considering trying it for a body swap. Questions;
Will it work?
What big problems would I run in to?
I know the wheelbase is 3" longer on the 96, but I can work with that.
Is it possible to swap without much fab work?
Anyone ever done it and have any advice?

Thanks in advance..
If I make the swap I will post pictures and show how it came out.
