Alternative fuel and hybrid vehicle parking only?

Post by motorheadjohn »

This is at the Virginia Beach Convention Center, front row of the parking lot, dozens of spaces sitting empty.

Someday if I ever start my own engineering firm I'll be sure to have parking spaces similar to this for Carbureted Vehicles Only!

I am trying to talk one of the local bars into designating "Old Truck Parking" I know the guy that owns it and he has reserved area for bikes. I told him that was discrimination. So far I haven't got the parking spot. :help: :bdh: :hw: :dk:

You know technically your truck is a hybrid. It burns gas and has a battery and you could coast it along on the starter........ ok a stretch but hey.

Someone on an offroad forum I am on posted a thread about the same thing going on at his school... the best parking spaces being wasted. But the spaces had electric cords so you could plug your electric vehicle in.

HIs solution.

He pops the hood, sticks the cord under the hood and latches the hood, never had an issue!

From what my folks were telling me in the great city of Portland OR....sense the sarcasm... they are talking about having hook ups for your hybrid at some parking spaces...that the tax payer would be paying for....so if that logic continues then the tax payer should be paying for my fuel at the fuel station too.....oh wait that's right i have a job and pay my taxes so i guess i can pay for others electricity and my own fuel...thus the tax payer paying for both......yeah something not right with this picture.

Cant say being stationed overseas is always the best thing in the world...but i don't have to deal with all the bull, i can just refuse to read the news.

I live in portland, so i can attest to that. at the mall, some shopping centers and downtown they have hybrid vehicle chargers in designated parking spaces...... almost always empty.....

I wonder if the bumps that also run on propane qualify for alternative fuel...
