Cargo Light wiring

Post by fonzf100s »

Hey,
Is there a wiring diagram for the cargo light in our trucks? Does it just come on with the external switch only or does it come on with the dome light or with the light switch on dome position? I'm going to put one on my truck and I can trace all of the wiring when I take it out, but diagrams are handy, the ones on here along with my test light got my truck wired back original after some suspicious fixes to brake lights/turn signals etc. Thanks,

Ron

I don't have a diagram, but the cargo light comes on with its own switch in the cab. The switch is operated by you and when pulled to light the cargo lamp the switch also lights up red. Hit the bone yards

Thanks,I've got one found, just didn't know if it was wired on it's own or with the dome.

Ron, the cargo lamp works all by itself but it does get it's power from a tap on the courtesy lamp switch harness. The green/yellow stripe wire from the cargo lamp switch plugs into a tap on the green/yellow stripe wire that ties the two courtesy lamp switches together.
