I had it as well, made for a long last half of my work shift. Not sure what that was all about.

Yeah, I notice that almost everyday. Then the site goes down for a few minutes. Then it's back up and working fine.

I have a server of my own (no, I don't host a PHP powered forum) and I too use a SQL database. For reasons that I don't know about, the server (Fordification) is crashing and restarting or an application is crashing and restarting. It seems to happen in the middle of my night, almost on a regular basis. Like my server, Fordification seems to have a supervisory program that monitors things and can restart the things that go bump in the night. (ha I made a pun)

Usually when it happens, I can trace it back to a bunch of damned search-engine bots crawling the forums at the same time, opening up multiple connections to read through all the threads. I've tried banning them in the settings, and instituted a special file which is supposed to tell them to go away and leave us alone, but not all search bots play by the rules. I have another idea for a work-around, so I'll have to give that a try and see how it works out.
