Old Ford F750 Sighting ~ Had to Share

Post by FordRocket72 »

Went mountain biking around the lake today and caught a glance of this big truck from the corner of my eye, just had to stop and take some pictures and share with my friends!

:) That's an L 750 model not an F. Not the prettiest but it looks solid. L models tend to rust out in the same places our bumps do. If you're ever looking at one to buy be sure to check the cab mounts and support channels first then climb up and check the roof. Unless the hood was changed the 750 designation and the small opening in the grill are good indications that it has a gas engine.

BTW, the arm rests in these trucks interchange with the 68-72 F series trucks. The inner door handles and window cranks are the same as 67 F series.

Pulp hauler up the road from me still drives his every day. Might be newer but looks the same.
There is still an F700 up at the gas station I worked at in H.S. Lancaster's BBQ bought the store out and bought the 67 oil truck with the store. Painted it up like the Lancaster sign. I delivered oil in the truck once or twice when they regular driver was out.
Once drive it about 10 miles to the Ford dealer when the brakes went out on it. Really surprised me the owner of the place trusted me, a 16 year old to do that. lol

Ford used that cab from 70 - 96. My boss at the scrap yard just bought an LTL9000 tractor. Not perfect but a nice truck.

They were known as the "Louisville Line",as they were

L model dash clusters won't work in our trucks. :(
