I am running a six foot fiberglass rod on my truck with a courier made in 76 and can pick up about 15 miles at the most on good days when skip you can do anything. My dad has a base he is running two 30 ft antennas with a galaxy dx55v (maybe not for sure.) and picks up 50 miles on good days.

I have a couple Cobra 29 Classics and want to put one in my 71 soon.
I still have the old Gemtronics GTX-3000 base station I had when I was a kid. CB's were big then and all my friends had one in the house. I have big Stick somebody gave me so I might hook the base back up in the shop one day.
I would love to hook up the Cobra in my 71 with a huge linear so that when the young uns come by me blasting their bass with their huge stereos and bass amps maybe I could key up and bleed over into their stuff and make a bunch of noise and shut them down. lol. Yeah I am pretty tired of hearing somebody's music, or what they call music from a mile or more away.
