Old Ford Trucks Forever - Parady of Panheads Forever

Post by Sharkdance »

This is a parody of an old song by David Allen Coe named Panheads Forever.
Ive always liked this song and even though its about an old Harley I think it fits the feeling fostered by these old trucks as well.
So I thought I would post the lyrics of the song with a slight taylor to include Old Ford Trucks.
If you have ever heard this song you can hear it playing in your head as you read this. Me thinks it fits quite nicely as an Ode to Old Ford Trucks.

Old Ford Trucks Forever
By: ??

She's hard to get started
She's always so cold
In the mornings I find her -
She's looking so old
There's so many miles
We've been down that road once or twice
She's not much to look at
When we drive thru town
But I know when the chips fall
She won't let me down
She knows how to run
And she don't run around on her man

She's a high flyin' lady
She takes me where I want to be
There's no other woman
Standing between her and me
I'll always be faithful
And keep her 'til the end of time
God knows I'll always love
That old Ford truck of mine

I've seen fancy new trucks
And they may have caught my eye
I drove'em to drive'em
Then I told them goodbye
I flirted with Lightnings
Deisels and Dualies too
I cussed her and beat her
And kicked her to just get her started
A couple of times
God knows I'll always love
That old Ford truck of mine.
You may think Im crazy but I love
that old Ford truck of mine.

And just for the sake of integrity. Here are the origional lyrics of the song:

Panheads Forever
By David Allan Coe

She's hard to get started
She's always so cold
In the mornings I find her -
She's looking so old
There's so many miles
I've been down that road once or twice
She's not much to look at
When we ride thru town
But I know when the chips fall
She won't let me down
She knows how to run
And she don't run around on her man

She's a high flyin' lady
She takes me where I want to be
There's no other woman
Standing between her and me
I'll always be faithful
And keep her 'til the end of time
God knows I'll always love
That old Panhead of mine

I've seen fancy dressers
And they've caught my eye
I rode'em to ride'em
Then I told them goodbye
I flirted with Low Riders
Sportsters and Shovelheads too
I cussed her and beat her
And kicked her to just get her started
A couple of times
God knows I'll always love
That old Panhead of mine.

Yep, to BOTH versions. I had a '48 Pan for years, and I'll miss it 'til my dying breath. At least I can still afford my old Ford truck.

You all know how much I love the old Fords, but I hope I get to swing my leg over one more panhead.
