North Texas Bump Meet and Greet

Post by indytexan929 »

Just want to see who would be interested in a Meet and Greet for the Bump owners in North Texas. There is a realy cool '50s drive-in in Denton, TX called Frostys that serves homemade root beer. Then we could cruise around the courthouse square, and down to UNT. I'm thinking January 23rd, good way to kick off the new year. Who's interested? 8)

I might be able to. Id have to trailer mine there. Not sure theres enough gas between here and Denton to drive it that far.

I would be down for the meet and greet, but my bump is inop, so I would be bumpless. If it happens I will probably come visit.

I figured starting this in Denton would encompass most of the North Texas crowd. For some reason, a lot of folks north of Denton don't like to travel south of Lake Lewisville. I would like to see this become a bi-monthly get together at various places in the North Texas / DFW area. I'm not looking to exclude anyone, but Texas is a great big place! I'm also looking for other things to do on that day, hope to find some.

I'm interested in this meeting. I live in Mesquite so it's not too far a of a drive. Hopefully more fellow bumpside owners can come on down to talk trucks and do a little cruising.

Man, that'll be so cool. Even just 5 trucks cruising, or even just parked. I hope more people make the trip. :fr:

I'm wondering if the meet can be pushed back to the 30th of January or the 6th of February. I just don't think I'll have my truck ready by then. It would also give more people time to read the post and comment on here if they'll be able to go.

Just a suggestion. I don't want to force it if everybody's got the 23rd locked and loaded.

What do you think indytexan929, brandon.k,fireguywtc, 91bear, hot_roder09. I called you 5 out because, well, ya'll are the only ones on this post

I guess if my truck isn't running by the 23rd and ya'll are set, I may be able to show up bumpless, or I could wait for the upcoming meet on March 23rd  , that is if this turns into a bimonthly meet, which would be super cool.

Happy new year,
Ivansgreat

Actually, I was thinking of this too. My mother-in-law is having cataract surgery on the 20th, and me and the little missus will need to help her out for the next couple of days after. Looks like we will be out of town that weekend. I'm totally cool if we could move it to Feb. 6th, it will allow me to do a couple of things to my '68 as well. What does everyone think?

If we push it back a bit I may have my new bump by then! I will have to look at my schedule though, I work every other weekend. I vote to move it back some.

I think Feb. 6th will be a great date to start. I plan on trying to put a meet and greet together at least once a month, at various places in the metroplex. I'm thinking since the first (February) will be in the northern part, the next (March) will take place in the western part, somewhere in Fort Worth. Then we will go south, east, and then somewhere in the center. I think this will give several folks a chance to come out, without having to travel too far.

I'm hoping that others will pick up on this and start hosting meet and greets all over, then if time and funds allow, people could caravan to various towns and have a lot of fun. Looking forward to meeting a lot of folks and sharing ideas!!

I also vote for the 6th of Feb. I'll go with a bump or without one. Having a meet in various places is nice. We'll be able to meet more people and see new places
