Floor Pan replacement

Post by ejgator »

I seem to remember someone volunteering to describe the process some time back. Can't find the thread now. Am I dreaming? Can anyone give me any tips?. I have the new pans trimmed and sitting in place, but haven't cut out the old ones yet.

I think I need to spot weld in the new, but don't have a dedicated spot welder. Is a spot weld accessory made for Hobart 135 Mig welder? Or maybe I can drill 1/4" holes in the new pan and weld the edges??

How about a sealer where the edges of the new and old overlap? Any recommendations?
:? :?
Thanks,
Gator

Click on the green 71 f100. I kinda hit the highspots on this. I think eastwood co. makes a brushable seam sealer

Thanks, lobuck. That's a big help. Actually, I got the rusty ones cut out yesterday (I used an air cutoff tool on the first, took a long time, a reciprocating saw on the second, about 5 minutes).
