My 72 F250 is stock hieght. Seen what looks like a good deal on ebay for some used 37s. Looks like the old HumV tires may have been picked up by this guy for resale. Are these too big without lifting? Modifying front fenders is not an option. Back is a flatbed with plenty of room and not a issue.

No, they will not fit at all.
Not a big fan of those MTR's myself. I wouldn't pay $200 for a set of them in 16.5.
By the looks of your truck I can't see how you could fit 37" tires in the rear either. I have 35"s on my '71 with the rear 3" over stock and 4" in the front. The flatbed is 6" above the top of the frame rails and bumpstops setup for the same travel as stock. If I was on the bumpstops the tires would be 1/2" from the bottom of the bed on level ground.

7700 GVW highboys will fit a 35" tire, but 35X12.50 is a bit too wide and rubs depending on offset.
33"s are a sure fit. If you use your truck 255/85R16's are a great tires size. They're 8" wide or more and 34" tall.
33X12.50's are not a great size for carrying weight and they're too wide to get decent traction in poor conditions.

I've run 255/85R16's on a few rigs and it's a great size. Nice and tall but not too wide.
