no rear running lights?

Post by prime mover »

everything works but the rear runners, no fuses are blown and I know they were working recently. I installed a brake controller a week ago but cant think of any way that would effect it.

Did you check bulbs and clean and check ground on the bulbs? If you were working under the dash, check connections to the switch. Rear running lights probably comes off the switch on dedicated terminal. If you have power to switch and other lights work, the problem is most likely between switch and the lights. Therefore check the connections from lights to the switch. Let us know.

I figured it out, there was a huge mess of wires under the back, I mean a rats nest so I rewired everything and installed a 7-way connector for the trailer. I drilled a hole through the bumper the connector has that plastic flapper door on it so it looks pretty clean. the way I finally found it was by having my wife watch the lights while I got underneath and wiggled the jumble of wiresuntil something happened.

Glad you got it solved!

How'd you drill the big hole?

"Are you gonna make it all 220?"
"Yeah 220, 221, whatever it takes."
