2009 Cortez Cruisin Car Show

Post by reflectionpoint »

Hey all,

Just spent the day at the 2009 Cortez Cruisin' Car Show, here in Cortez, CO. About 125 Vehicles from all over the state and neighboring states, the furthest coming in over 400 miles from Phoenix, AZ!
I decided a couple weeks ago to enter the George Geer Memorial Burn Out (part of the CCC Show) but when I showed up to pre-register they told me they would like me to enter the truck into the Show also as they wanted a more diverse line-up so I went ahead and signed up and spent the whole day at the show. There were many people who complimented the truck, even in it's current state of disrepair--most had a moment they shared with me about 'my grandpa used to have one like this' or 'when I was younger I had an F100'.

It was a good day; I hoped to get more pictures but with toting around my 2yr old I gave up on that endeavor. Here are a few pictures friends took, as well as a video of my truck at the burn out this evening!

This VERY NICE Super Bee spun the rubber to 160 MPH during this 1 minute burn out.. AMAZING CAR.. when it drove away you could barely hear it running..stunner!

So. In summary; I had a good day.. and I am definitely locking that rear end before next year! Anyone want to roll in with me next go 'round?

I actually adjusted the rear brakes all the way in so they weren't engaging, only the fronts. Call it the poor white boy's line-lock. Haha.. driving it across town was scary though, I'm a stickler for my brakes being in working order.. lol. It was still a lot of fun. If things go well for me this year job-wise, I'll have a proper line lock and a locker next year. Plus--a lot more engine. :P We'll see.
