Possibly letting you know there is no oil pressure, but once you start it the light stays off cause there is oil pressure. :hmm:

The same happens with my Subaru. If I turn the key all the indicator lights come on, but once I continue turning the key and get it fired up the lights are no longer lit. I don't have the lights in my truck just gauges.

Yea, if the new batt is dead then you probably have a bad alt or something is still drianing it. Did you pull the poss off with everything shut off? Did it throw a spark or was it quit?

well, I went out to start the truck this morning and the new batt. was dead. :x :x so, I think it's safe to say that the alt. is the culprit. :x

Check to see if you get a spark when you disconnect the poss cable (charge batt first). Something is draining your batt while it is just sitting there not running.

Also, get it running and take it to an auto shop or alt shop and have them load test your charging system. That can tell you allot and may even pin point the problem.
