360 fe to a 351w

Post by adam2749 »

I recently purchased a 351 for my 68 f100 short bed. Was wondering the difference in motor mounts and where to buy the right ones...and I have a new ac delco tranny auto overdrive for a small block ford...I was wondering if there is a difference in the transmission cross member and mounts? anyone done this swap before....love to hear what I should watch for. Thanks

You can put a thread in the "parts wanted" section of this forum. Good chance someone will have some motor mounts for you. Also remember to check craigslist and ebay because you never know. Not sure about the tranny mount though.

You will need the 302 engine towers from a 69-79. Also make sure you have the proper flexplate. A lot of them will bolt on but the balance will be wrong if it isn't the correct one. Expect to move the rear cross member and have a custom driveshaft made or at least the old one modified to fit. Also I suppose you know about the TV cable to the tranny? You must have it and have it adjusted properly or the tranny will fail very quickly.
