Do not notch it. Find the correct drivers side tower for the FE with power steering. With the correct power steering FE towers, use the front holes on the drivers side and the rear hols on the passenger side. The 240/300 use the same FE towers as the manual steering trucks and they use the front holes.
Side oiler FE, see if you can catch me!!!

i tried to find those pics i talked abotu but i couldnt find them. i don't know where kieth put the pics of the perches that had been modified. sideoiler is right the drivers side power steering perch does go in the front hole. but the manual perch goes in the back set of holes. since you have a manual perch they would need to be notched to fit under the saginaw power steering box. the notch isn't much . i think its just a small bit of the corner. getting the correct power steering perch is the way to go if you can find one.

would this be the same front holes as the 302? this fits in the 302's holes up top but is short a hole in the crossmember. and they fit that way. just wasn't sure if the 390 had offset mounts o the engine or if they need to be directly across from each other?
This is the prerches as the relate to each other.

his is the drivers perch it goes right where the 302 did up top and it uses the forward most hole in the cross member but needs another hole.

went to the junk yard for some hardware and found a 360 equiped truck with the motor allready pulled.
