Are these uncommon

I already promised these parts to someone so I guess it doesnt matter but I am just curious about them since I dont see them around alot(but then again I never look for them).

I am wondering if they are rare, unusual, sought after, or really common according to the vin they are as follows
1.1967 4spd manual NP-435 trans
2.1967 Dana 60 rear axle with 4.1 limited slip

These came from my 67F100
Any info about them would be great.

the np435 is one of those common as dirt type transmissions.

The dana 60 might be worth something but I dont know.

The transmission is virtually indestructible, but because they made so many of them they're not really that hard to find, for the most part.

The rearend itself is also pretty common...all F250s had them. However, a majority didn't have limited slip, so it's worth a few more bucks....well, at least the carrier.

A semi-float D60-2 with a power-loc and 4.10's is about the most desireable 1/2 ton axle you can get. They fetch $400+ in working shape around here.

Whoops....dammit, did it again. I answered a post without completely reading it first. Yes, a 5-lug Dana 60 is very desirable and very rare. Interestingly enough, every one I've ever run across is limited slip (all three of them! ), but yours is the first one that I've heard of that didn't have 3.54 gears in it. I've got one of these in my '67 as well, it came from a highly-optioned '68 Ranger.

oh I forgot how do I dentify the rear axle? I am assuming its a D60 by looking at the vin tag.

An F100 will either have a 9" Ford rearend or the 5-lug Dana 60. A Dana 60 has a removable rear cover, the 9" pumpkin removes from the front.



I have also heard of the Dana 44 occasionally showing up in these trucks. To distinguish between a Dana 44 and a Dana 60, look at the housing web. Here's a picture I took when I found my 5-lug Dana 60:

Some of the F-100's got Dana 44's as well. If your truck was a six truck I highly doubt it had the Dana 60. I've only seen the 60 in 360-390 trucks.

The previous owner said it was a dana 44 but the vin plate says dana 60 code E5 so I am curious about it, but yes it is an original 6 cylinder.

After reading this thread I remembered the differential looked kind of funny on the '67 I just bought and this morning I looked at it and apparently it is a Dana 60 too. I don't know the gear ratio though.

you can find out the ratio from the door tag if the rearend hasnt been changed or the pumpkin tag if the gears havent been changed.

Or by spinning the pinion and seeing how many times the wheel or hub turns if you don't trust either of those sources.
