PLEASE HELP F250 Expansion Valve

Post by HurleyInt824 »

Can anybody send me a pic or literature of an expansion valve installed unit? I am rebuilding mine and cant see how a 90 degree bend in the expansion valve will work. Im stuck, is there an adapter that needs to be added to work???

Are you referring to one from a factory A/C setup? :?

no the expansion valve is for a/c only. they dont have anything to do with the heater hoses.

oh, because when he said "cant see how a 90 degree bend" and Keith mentioned factory/ac i though that he was talking about trying to install a heater/ac because the hoses are a pain.

There are different shaped expansion valves... hopefully someone will have some pictures of theirs... But it could also be defferant from factory to dealer installed units as well...
I did a quick search and found that the Dent Sides seem to have 2 different styles, at least looking at the replacement parts... Here is the one that is not the 90deg type... Would that work for you?

Well, it ain't the best pic, but it's the only one I have. This is the setup from a factory A/C...the suitcase style.

I did a little more looking after Keith posted the picture and couldn't find one like that on the parts america web... This was the closest one I found and I don't think it is the same as it looks like it is missing the other small tube... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayI ... %26fvi%3D1

Might try Ford Dealer but may have to rig up something different...

my compressor locked up on my great grandpa like 20 years ago and just went and rebuilt the whole thing.

if you have a factory a/c you can get a new part #25-8798 (ford # c8tz-19849-a) from old air products in texas. if you have a dealer add-on there is no aftermarket part, the ford # is c8tz-1849-b
