Speedo cluster question

Post by Bugsb70 »

The light bulb in my speedometer is out. It should be simple to remove the four screws, pull the cluster forward and disconnect the speedometer. It isn't. Does the speedo cable screw on or is it help in with a clip like models after 1973? Suggestions on how to make this removal easy? I don't go around just pulling stuff.

Reach up behind the cluster and unscrew the speedo cable, remove the screws from the face of the bezel and remove it from the dash. All the bulbs are easy to access.

Speedo cable screws in , and that is how I would do it but I think there are slightly more than 4 screws.
