Hi Elaney

Do you need just the wire colors or what they do ?
I have a turn signal switch from a '71 that would have all the wire colors. I also have a wiring diagram for a '68 in digital format that I could email ya. You might also do a search here on fordification.. there might be a diagram for a '71.

red/black stripes to brake light switch
green/white stripes to LH front turn signal
white/orange stripes to emergency flasher (might be located elsewhere)
yellow/brown stripe (I could only find yellow/black stripe to LH rear turn signal)
white/blue stripe to RH front turn signal
blue to turn signal flasher
green to RH rear turn signal
yellow/blue to horn relay

these may be for the 73-79 but should be similair.

Here's the diagram if the main plug is small 6 wire (only 5 wires in the main plug)plug with a two plug secondary connection "e" and "f"
http://www.fordification.com/images/sch ... odel99.jpg

And if it had the larger 8 wire plug (only 7 wires are actually used ) it is the connector in the diagram between the Ignition switch and the windsheild wiper washer switch http://www.fordification.com/images/sch ... master.jpg

Mine had the six wire with a separate 2 wire ,I found an eight wire male and female out (cut both sides back far enough to have wires on either side )scavenging one day and just converted it.
With the exception of a wire or two being off color from year to year they are really simular . if i can figure it out anyone should be able to.

Hope it helps

Does anyone know what year the plug set for the steering column was rounded like the bottom of a U? I just swapped a new columinto my truck but i don't know what year its from.

Also whats the difference between the 7 and 8 wire plugs? whats the extra wire for?
