EFI & AOD starts right up every morning with out having to wait for it to warm up

^^^^^^ Must be really nice, dude. And you dont even have to prime the fuel either, do you? Just hit the key and bamm.. you're in buisness.

If I would have been a little patient I would have kept the 390 and would have done a EFI setup with a megasquirt computer but I can't complain.
yeah no priming is needed and it works excellent with a remote starter.

Best repair I ever made on Strong Bad II was to put new bolts and a rubber thing on the rag joint. Got rid of my intermittent steering! No more driving straight when the road curves! No more oncoming traffic to worry about! No more pawn shops wondering why I'm waist deep in the engine compartment of a truck in their parking lot!

I miss that truck...

Limited slip in the rear with 350's and new wheel bearings. Floor shifter Soon to have a duraspark-msd combo

1. The engine mods, these FE's make a ton of power when they are fresh and have the right heads, cam, and intake.

2. the king pin Dana 60 in front.

3. The NP435 trans. Much smoother and tighter shifting than the T-18.

4. Lockers, Front and Rear

5. NP205 transfercase.

6. USA6x6 double beadlock wheels.

7. 38" Ground Hawgs


But I think the all time best mod is going to be the integrated power steering, That is yet to come though.

Turning that 60 with 38" tires and a big block sitting on them is truly a chore with armstrong steering.

Pertronix ignition, relocating the speakers from the rear doors to the center pillar and oh yeah trashed the split rims.

Got rid of my split rims.
Installed dentside radiator support and inner fenders. Beefed up the front-end A LOT.
I like the old AM for nostalgia, but i need a new a speaker!!!

It's hard to choose just one, but I'd have to say the mid 70's disc brake front end. It stops much straighter from higher speeds without guessing which way it's going to pull this time.

I have a pretty nice, one owner (before me) F-250CS. The 360 was kind of tired and had BAD exhaust leaks. I broke manifold bolts off in the head trying to fix them. So out comes the 360 and back in goes a mildly built 396 (.030 over 390). It's a completely different (better) truck. Fuel mileage sucks and it uses the good stuff but, what the hay. When it comes time to run to town, the bump is my ride of choice.

The very 1st I made were the delayed wipers . When she comes out this time (and I am getting damn close)I think will be the 3g alternator upgrade .

I have only two upgrades, 1st was a nice polish on the paint and a complete inside and out detail.

The second was a S intake and 4-V carb.

The rest is still all original.

Boy am i glad that someone started this string! i've been meaning to post these since early January fave' things i've done to my truck so far... everything
Unfortunately it's been so cold since late Jan' (-20 to 30f) that my unheated barn hasn't been the place to be so my attentions have drifted to the refurbishment of a 1972 Triumph Trident i found in a barn (another story and web site!) but at least i can play with that in the basement
Anyway attached are a few of the things i've done so far:
* Sliding rear window - many thanks to Widegauge
* New radio (e-bay) & single-twin speaker from the LMC catalog
* Excellent electric fan, thermo switch & radiator (does a brilliant job and makes a big difference).
other stuff: washers, washer bottle, dizzy cap, leads, points, plugs, a new heater matrix, spotlights, seat cover, sill covers, window caps.
still to do: 390's excellent headlight harness, new exhaust manifold, longer exhausts, rear shocks, fronts shocks & springs and passengerside floor pan (just a small hole)
Anyway, thanks to all of you for your help, i'm sure it will not be the last time!
