aftermarket turn signal switch

i got one of these today out of a used truck it only has 4 wires i know how to find out where they go but do i tap into the tail lights or the brake lights to get signals, :eek: :? i had to rig the lights years ago to get headlights tail lights and brake lights :? :hmm:

i may be wrong and i probably am but i was thinking that the tail and brake light were the same wire/circut. i'd look at the schematics to be sure.

The 4 wire switches require a seperate light on each corner of the truck for turn signals. They won't work with the brake lights. The switches that work with the brake lights have 7 wires.

Turn signals flash the brake bulb.
